Fuji Xtra is out, and Adekunle Gold is just getting started
Adekunle Gold is having his season, and he is not slowing down anytime soon.
The award winning singer and songwriter dropped Fuji Xtra on May 8, 2026, the deluxe expansion of his critically acclaimed 2025 album Fuji, bringing the tracklist from 15 to 20 tracks with new collaborations featuring Olamide, his wife Simi and rising star TML Vibez. The release has sent fans into a frenzy, with the project already generating significant buzz across streaming platforms and social media since its arrival.

Fuji marked a bold creative pivot for the AG Baby crooner, drawing on the traditional Fuji sounds that shaped Nigerian music decades before Afrobeats became a global phenomenon. The expanded deluxe version, which he has dubbed Electro Fuji, blends those traditional rhythmic roots with contemporary Afrobeats energy in a way that has earned him widespread critical praise and renewed admiration from a fanbase that has followed his journey from Sade to Party No Dey Stop and now to this. But the music is not the only major news coming out of the AG Baby camp this season.
In the same period, Adekunle Gold has been unveiled as Brand Ambassador for The Macallan, the world renowned single malt Scotch whisky founded in 1824 and widely regarded as one of the most prestigious spirits brands in the world. The formal announcement was made on May 7, 2026, but those who attended The Macallan Timeless Collection launch in Lagos on April 17 at The Anthonia by Civic Centre, Ikoyi, had already witnessed the partnership reveal in real time, as AG performed to a room full of the city’s most distinguished names from entertainment, business and culture.

The partnership did not happen overnight. It has been quietly building over the past year through a series of cultural moments that include an intimate Coco Money dinner party at Kaly Restaurant in Victoria Island in April 2025, the seamless integration of The Macallan into his Coco Money music video and his Fuji album release celebrations in October. By the time the Lagos launch came around, the relationship between the artist and the brand felt less like a deal and more like a natural extension of who Adekunle Gold is.
Speaking on the partnership, the singer said: “This partnership is rooted in shared values, craftsmanship, excellence, legacy, class and the beauty of taking time to create something meaningful. Everything I create, whether through music, culture or storytelling, is built with intention, and that is what makes this relationship with The Macallan feel both natural and deeply authentic. We both understand that timeless work is never rushed, and I am excited about what we will build together.”
With a deluxe album already turning heads and a major brand partnership now official, Adekunle Gold is clearly operating at a different level in 2026. For an artist who has always played the long game, this season feels like the moment everything he has been building is coming together at once.
Fuji Xtra is out now on all streaming platforms.
