In a strategic effort to consolidate unity and reposition the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections, Hon. Ifeanyi Ogbonna convened a key stakeholder engagement in Arochukwu Local Government Area, bringing together influential party figures and grassroots leaders from Arochukwu and Ohafia.

The meeting, initiated by Ogbonna on Tuesday, centred on reconciliation, mobilisation, and strengthening party cohesion. Addressing ward executives and stakeholders, he stressed the critical importance of unity, noting that the APC’s electoral fortunes in Arochukwu, Ohafia, and Abia State depend largely on internal stability, mutual understanding, and a collective sense of purpose.

According to him, “Enduring political success is only possible when members work in harmony, rebuild confidence among themselves, and align behind a common vision that serves the broader interest of the party.”

The gathering featured prominent political actors, including Chief Emma Nwosu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023; Arochukwu APC Council Leader, John Million; party stalwart Edward Kalu Okocha; Ohafia youth leader Chief Ndubuisi Eme (Ugo 1); and State Chairman of the OUK Movement, Chief Sunday Ojisi Iro Ogbaja aka Abacha.

Also in attendance was the Arochukwu LGA Chairman of the OUK Movement, Eze Precious Ngwu (Bongidi), alongside other party leaders and affiliated groups.

Sustaining the momentum, a larger stakeholders’ meeting held at Ogbonna’s Arochukwu residence further reinforced support for his leadership.

Attendees applauded his contributions to stabilising party structures and promoting synergy among members.

Speaking at the gathering, Chief Emma Nwosu described Ogbonna as “one of the most dedicated leaders in our party, whose consistent efforts have significantly contributed to the growth and stability of the APC in Arochukwu.”

He added that “his ability to bring stakeholders together has ensured the relative peace and steady progress the party is currently enjoying. We are here to commend him and reaffirm our collective commitment to building a stronger, united APC.”

In the same vein, OUK Movement leader Sunday Orjisi highlighted the need for discipline and unwavering loyalty within party ranks.

He urged members to follow Ogbonna’s example, stating that “commitment, integrity, and loyalty to party leadership are essential ingredients for building a resilient political structure. We must remain focused and not be influenced by transient gains.”

A major highlight of the meetings was the unanimous vote of confidence passed on leading APC figures, including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The endorsement concluded with a spirited rendition of the “On Your Mandate” anthem in solidarity with President Tinubu for his reelection in 2027.

Responding, Ogbonna expressed appreciation to the stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed his dedication to driving development across Arochukwu and Ohafia. He outlined priority areas such as education, agriculture, youth development, road infrastructure, healthcare, and impactful legislative initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.

The engagement also extended to pro-APC groups, including City Boys and Renewed Hope advocates, who pledged their backing for Ogbonna’s ambition, citing his leadership qualities, credibility, and capacity to unite diverse interests.

Across the various meetings, a clear message emerged: the determination to reposition the APC in Arochukwu and Ohafia as a united, disciplined, and progressive political force.

The unfolding developments signal a turning point for the APC in the area, marked by strengthened unity, shared vision, and a renewed drive to deliver effective representation and governance.
