Former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has condemned in strong terms the violent attack on Oke-Ode community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, which claimed the lives of 12 people, including members of a local vigilante group and a community leader.
Describing the incident as a “mindless act of violence,” Obi expressed deep sorrow over the killings and sympathized with the families of the victims, the community, and the people of Kwara State. He called on security agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice while urging government at all levels to prioritize the safety of lives and property across the country.
“The recurring cases of senseless killings and insecurity continue to threaten our collective peace and development as a nation. We must work urgently and sincerely towards securing every Nigerian community,” – Obi stated.
He further reiterated his appeal for a united front against insecurity, emphasizing that the protection of citizens must remain the top responsibility of government.
