President Tinubu’s government has listed the 19‑year‑old Boeing 737‑700 BBJ—Nigeria’s former presidential jet—for sale in Switzerland, following recent maintenance by JetHQ and AMAC Aerospace in Basel.
The sale aims to save on skyrocketing maintenance costs ($1.5–4.5M/jet annually), and fund a newer Airbus A330 introduced in 2024. This fleet overhaul comes amid nationwide budget squeeze and fuel subsidy protests.
