Amas Obasogie has been suspended by his Tanzania club Singida Black Stars for alleged match-fixing.

The Tanzania premier league club announced on Friday that its disciplinary committee has suspended the Super Eagles of Nigeria reserve goalkeeper’s for three months to allow for investigations into the match-fixing allegations.

The club did not, however, reveal any information on the alleged match-fixing claim.

The 26 years old is one of two players slammed with disciplinary measures by the club in its public announcement, and the club further reminded players on the need for club respect and discipline.

“The leadership of Singida Black Stars SC, through the Disciplinary Committee, has taken disciplinary action against players Khalid Aucho and Amas Obasogie.

“Amas Obasogie [is] suspended for 3 months to allow investigation into match-fixing allegations.

“The club reminds all players and staff to uphold discipline, accountability, and respect for the club.”

Obasogie left the Nigeria Premier Football League for Fasil Kenema SC in the Ethiopian Premier League where he spent just over four months before switching to Black Stars where he has featured only seven times.
