Senator Kingibe made the remarks on Tuesday during an appearance on Political Paradigm, a programme aired on Channels Television. She cited internal crises and factional disagreements within the party as major obstacles that could hinder its electoral prospects.

“I don’t see the Labour Party winning in 2027 in the current state. The party is fractured and plagued with internal wranglings,” Kingibe stated.

She emphasized the need for unity, reform, and strong leadership if the Labour Party hopes to stand a serious chance in future elections. Her comments have sparked conversations within political circles, with many seeing them as a call for introspection and reconciliation within the party.

Senator Ireti Kingibe, elected under the Labour Party platform in 2023, has remained vocal about issues of governance, party organization, and political accountability.
