PHOTOS: 7th day prayer for Daily Trust Editor-in-chief’s mother held in Jos

A large number of sympathizers, including religious leaders, friends, colleagues, and family members have attended the 7th-day prayer session for the late Hajya Rabi Idris, mother of Daily Trust Editor-in-Chief, Malam Hamza Idris.

The prayer session was held at the editor’s family house in Tudunfera community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The prayer, held on Monday morning, came four days after the 3rd-day prayer session was conducted at Rijiyan Zaki in Kano, following Hajiya Rabi’s passing on June 23th. She was laid to rest in Kano.

Led by Alaramma Hamisu Umar, leader of Quranic Reciters in Plateau, the prayer began with the recitation of the complete sixty chapters of the Glorious Quran.

The leader of the reciters extolled the virtues of the late Hajiya Rabi Idris and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul.

The Chief Imam of Tudun Faira Juma’at Mosque, who also attended the prayer, prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the souls of late Hajiya Rabi Idris and the Editor-in-Chief’s late father, Alaramma Idris.

Sympathizers described the deceased as a committed, religious, and generous woman, calling on other women to emulate her.
