The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that there was no magic in making former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Kaduna State governor, Ahmed Makarfi, and Sule Lamido attend the recent national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Wike said he only made the PDP chieftains to understand the reality on ground, hence their decision to attend the national convention.

He made this known during his monthly media chat in Abuja on Friday.

Wike said: “There is nothing like magic, it’s you talking to Saraki, Makarfi, and Sule Lamido and letting them understand the reality. It’s not to chase shadows but these are experienced leaders in their own rights.”

The minister also dismissed claims that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government is tormenting opposition unlike what was obtainable during the previous administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He added: “I’m not a greedy man, human beings can be very greedy but not all politicians. They say when you give a man power and money then you will know the true state of that person. If there was anybody that was tormented under Buhari’s government it was me. Which of them, including ADC will say this government is tormenting him?

“APC under the Buhari’s government nearly killed the PDP by using money, they brought in Modu Sheriff as our National Chairman but I never ran away; I hired lawyers and at the Supreme court the matter was thrown away.

“You know that you are opposition party and the government in power is sacrificing, let bone person say that the EFCC has come after the governor, remember that Bala Mohammed had EFCC issues before he became a governor.”
