PDP condemns Tangaza terrorist attack, mourns victims

From Shafa’atu Suleiman, Sokoto
The Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the recent terrorist attack on Kwalajiya village in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto state, describing it as “barbaric” and calling for immediate government intervention.
The PDP expressed deep sorrow over the killing of 15 residents and the injury of seven others during the violent raid by suspected terrorists in the Lakurawa axis of the LGA.
“We are shocked and outraged by the recent Lakurawa terrorist attack on Kwalajiya village, our hearts go out to the families of the 15 innocent lives lost and the seven others who sustained injuries.”
The opposition party called on security agencies to act swiftly in apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.
It urged the Sokoto State Government to deploy additional security personnel to the area to forestall further attacks and provide immediate humanitarian support to the affected communities.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of Tangaza and assure them of our unwavering support,” the party added. “The PDP further calls on the Federal Government to take concrete and sustainable measures to address the growing insecurity in Sokoto State and across Nigeria.”
The Tangaza region, which borders the Republic of Niger, has in recent years witnessed repeated attacks by armed groups, raising concerns about the effectiveness of border policing and the safety of rural communities.
