The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited reported an after-tax profit of ₦5.760 trillion, equivalent to $4.26 billion, for the 2025 financial year.

The company disclosed the figures in its latest operational and financial update, detailing performance across upstream, downstream and gas operations.

According to the report, total revenue for the year stood at ₦60.517 trillion. Statutory payments made to government agencies and joint venture partners amounted to ₦14.706 trillion within the same period.

NNPC stated that Nigeria recorded an average crude oil and condensate production of 1.62 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025.

Production in December, however, declined slightly compared to earlier months due to scheduled maintenance activities and some unplanned outages.

In December alone, oil and condensate output averaged 1.54 million bpd, while revenue for the month reached ₦4.824 trillion.

The company also reported steady performance in the gas sector. Natural gas supply in December averaged more than 6.914 billion standard cubic feet per day.

In the downstream segment, NNPC noted improvements in product availability. It said Nigerian Refining Limited stations achieved 65 per cent availability of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, in December, representing an increase from previous periods.

Upstream infrastructure performance was also highlighted, with pipeline systems recording 100 per cent availability during the month under review.

On gas infrastructure development, the company reported progress on key projects. It said mainline welding on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline was completed in December, while pilot hole drilling activities advanced on the Obiafu–Obrikom gas pipeline project.

NNPC added that the financial and operational figures released remain provisional, pending final reconciliation with relevant stakeholders.
