NDLEA arrests 39 suspects in Rivers State raids

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested 39 suspected drug peddlers during a series of coordinated operations across Rivers State.
The arrests were carried out in multiple locations within the state following intelligence-driven raids targeting hotspots known for drug trafficking and abuse.
According to the agency, the suspects were apprehended with various quantities of illicit substances, including cannabis, tramadol, and other hard drugs.
NDLEA officials disclosed that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on the distribution and consumption of narcotics, especially among youths in the region.
They emphasised that Rivers State remains a key focus area due to rising concerns of drug related crimes.
The agency further confirmed that investigations are ongoing, while the suspects will be charged in court upon completion of necessary procedures.
NDLEA reassured the public of its commitment to sustaining the crackdown on drug networks nationwide and urged residents to provide useful information that could aid future operations.
