Kano police arrest suspected armed robbers, recover stolen vehicle

The Kano State Police Command has arrested three men accused of taking part in an armed robbery in Abuja, leading to the recovery of a stolen car.
The suspects — 20-year-old Ismail Imran, 31-year-old Abdulaziz Yahaya, and 29-year-old Musa Ibrahim Isah — were picked up in Kano on September 6, 2025, after a joint operation with local vigilantes. All three are residents of Rigasa Quarters in Kaduna State.
During the raid, police recovered a blue 2014 Toyota Corolla S with registration number KWL-78 DN. The vehicle, which had a broken windscreen, was confirmed to have been stolen during an armed robbery at Durumi, Abuja, around 2:00 a.m. on September 5. The victim reported that his family was assaulted in the attack, and one member was left critically injured before the robbers escaped with the car.
Kano Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised his team for their swift action and highlighted the role of community policing in achieving the breakthrough.
“The suspects are currently helping investigation to unravel the full extent of their criminal activities.”

He noted that the suspects are already cooperating with investigators, which could help expose other crimes linked to them.
