Jonathan visits David Mark after ADC’s strategic meeting

As speculations continue to mount over whether former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the coming Presidential election, the former president on Thursday night visited the National Chairman of the coalition African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The meeting is coming hours after the ADC held its First National Caucus meeting in Abuja, and adopted the new party as the coalition platform.
Some members of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been wooing Jonathan to join the presidential race and contest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Jonathan who served Nigeria before as President, before he was defeated by late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 is only entitled to one term if he decides to join the race and is elected by Nigerians.
Even though the purpose of the meeting was not immediately clear, Mark was the Senate President during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and both leaders had a great working relationship.
Infact, it was the doctrine of necessity fashioned out by the National Assembly under the leadership of Mark that paved the way forJonathan to assume office as Acting President during the crisis that trailed the ill health of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
