Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has urged President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), which he claims implicates former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Wike vowed to resign from his position if the report is made public and does not indict Amaechi. Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television on Friday, July 4,in Abuja, Wike responded to corruption allegations leveled against him by Amaechi. He alleged that Amaechi’s wife received N4 billion monthly from the NDDC to train Niger Delta women. “Amaechi’s wife was never an industrialist. That’s why I call on Mr. President to release the forensic audit of the NDDC,” Wike said.“Her company received N4 billion every month to train Niger Delta women—that’s N48 billion in one year alone.

The forensic audit report is there. Who buried it? Malami, the former Attorney General.“I plead with Mr. President to help Nigerians by releasing that document. If the report does not confirm what I’ve said, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I don’t worship office.” Wike added that he was not declaring the audit infallible but insisted it should be made public. “Let Nigerians see the report. That is how Amaechi’s wife became an industrialist—N4 billion every month,” he said.

The FCT minister also questioned Amaechi’s academic credentials, calling them below average. He dismissed Amaechi’s claim that a senator gave him a Rolls-Royce that he does not use, alleging instead that the luxury car came from a contractor handling nearly 90% of projects in Rivers State while Amaechi was Governor.
