Emir of Kano Alleges Attack on Palace Gate by Bayero’s Supporters.

His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, has raised alarm over an alleged attack on his palace by loyalists of the deposed 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

According to the Emir, the incident occurred when a group of Bayero’s supporters stormed the palace premises and forcefully removed one of the gates during the attack. The motive behind the act remains unclear, but the action has heightened tensions in the ancient city.Sanusi condemned the invasion, describing it as a brazen attempt to disrupt peace and undermine traditional authority.
He called on security agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that those behind the attack are brought to justice.”We will not allow Kano to be thrown into chaos by the actions of a few who do not respect constituted authority or the dignity of the emirate institution,” Sanusi stated.
The Kano State Government has yet to issue an official response, while security operatives have reportedly increased surveillance around the palace and other strategic areas in the city.
Further updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
