Ekiti Govt to Establish Emergency Management Agency in All LGAs

The Ekiti State Government has announced plans to establish the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) across the 16 local government areas of the state as part of efforts to strengthen disaster prevention and response.

The Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, disclosed this on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti during a sensitisation programme on rainstorm, fire, and flood prevention, organised by the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency.
She noted that the initiative would enhance the stateโs capacity to mitigate disasters, safeguard lives, and protect property, while urging residents to embrace preventive measures against emergencies.
