Chief Dele Momodu Resigns from PDP, Cites Takeover by Antidemocratic Forces

Veteran journalist and prominent media personality, Chief Dele Momodu, has formally announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing deep concerns over the party’s direction and what he described as a takeover by antidemocratic forces.

In a letter dated July 17, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward 4 Chairman in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State, Chief Momodu declared his immediate departure from the party.

According to the respected journalist and former presidential aspirant, the decision came after a period of reflection on the state of the party and its apparent deviation from core democratic ideals and values.
