ASUU Directs Nationwide Suspension of Services Over Delayed June Salaries.

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced the suspension of academic activities across all its branches nationwide, citing the delay in the payment of June 2025 salaries.In a statement released on Monday, the union stated that the decision was in line with its long-standing “No Pay, No Work” resolution, which mandates members to withdraw their services when salaries are withheld or delayed without justification.

ASUU emphasized that several appeals and reminders to the appropriate authorities regarding the salary delay were ignored, leaving the union with no choice but to take this action in defense of its members’ welfare and rights.The union further called on the Federal Government to urgently address the salary backlog and other outstanding issues affecting the university system to avoid a prolonged disruption of academic activities.
