In a statement released on Tuesday, Dangote expressed concern over the persistent high cost of cooking gas despite improvements in local production and supply. He warned that if current distributors continue to resist the expected reduction in price, his company will initiate direct sales to consumers to break the monopoly and ensure affordability for the average Nigerian household.

“We are fully committed to making cooking gas more affordable for all Nigerians. If the middlemen and distributors continue to exploit consumers, we will not hesitate to sell directly to end-users,” Dangote said.

The move aligns with the company’s broader mission to support national economic growth and reduce the financial burden on millions of Nigerian families who rely on gas for daily cooking.

Dangote Industries has significantly ramped up its LPG production capabilities through the Dangote Refinery, which recently began operations with the aim of improving Nigeria’s energy independence.Industry stakeholders and consumer groups have praised the initiative, calling it a potential game changer in the domestic energy market.
