AIG orders probe into fire that razed Mopol 13 facility in Benue

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4, Makurdi, Zacharia Achinyan, has directed that an investigation be launched into the fire incident that destroyed the 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF) facility in Makurdi, Benue State.
Achinyan issued the directive on Monday while conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the damaged PMF 13 formation in the state capital.
The office complex of the Mobile Police 13 (Mopol 13) unit of the Nigeria Police Force was gutted by fire in the early hours of Sunday.
In a statement released in Makurdi, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Ayo Oluwaseun, disclosed that the AIG was welcomed on arrival by the Benue State Commissioner of Police, accompanied by the Commanding Officer of the 13 Police Mobile Force.
During the visit, the AIG expressed deep concern over the incident and instructed the Commissioner of Police to immediately initiate a comprehensive and meticulous investigation to determine the cause of the fire outbreak.
He further assured residents that the situation had been fully contained, calling on members of the public to stay calm and go about their legitimate activities, noting that sufficient security arrangements have been put in place.
