The African Democratic Congress (ADC) warmly welcomes His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, back to the country following his participation in the 2025 BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

While commending Nigeria’s continued engagement on global economic platforms such as BRICS, the ADC, in line with its commitment to transparency and accountability in governance, is compelled to seek clarification regarding President Tinubu’s unexplained five-day absence after the conclusion of the summit.

Given the critical state of the nation’s economy, rising insecurity, and the growing concerns among citizens about the direction of leadership, the ADC believes it is imperative that the Presidency provides clear information to the Nigerian people about the President’s extended stay outside the country.

The party stresses that democratic leadership thrives on trust, openness, and consistent communication with the populace. At a time when national challenges demand the President’s direct attention, silence or ambiguity on matters of his whereabouts undermines public confidence.

The ADC calls on the Federal Government and relevant authorities to address the concerns raised and reassure Nigerians that their trust in leadership is not misplaced. As a responsible opposition, the ADC remains committed to advocating for good governance, transparency, and the protection of democratic values.
